As a research-intensive university, HUST is renowned for both its advanced research facilities and its academic achievements. HUST manages four National Laboratory/National Science Centers, including the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (one of the six national labs in China), the Wuhan National High Magnetic Field Center (National Science Center), the Center for Gravitational Experiments (National Science Center) and the National Innovation Institute of Digital Design and Manufacturing.
